Convocation Error: Adrien Duval's Trial Postponed
The trial against Deputy Adrien Duval has once again been postponed on Friday, November 7, 2025. During the hearing before Magistrate Pamela Veerabadran-Mudaliar, the prosecuting representative, Me Damodarsingh Bissessur (Senior State Counsel), indicated that a key witness - the lead investigator, Inspector Veerasamy from the Floréal police station - was not summoned due to a 'confusion'.
Instead, Inspector Virasami from the Chemin Grenier police station, who was also listed as a witness, was mistakenly assigned. The court has therefore adjourned the case until January 16, 2026.
In this matter, Adrien Duval pleads not guilty to the four charges against him: involuntary bodily harm, presumed driving under the influence, refusal to submit to a breathalyzer test, and refusal to provide a blood or urine sample.
The incidents date back to an accident that occurred in Ébène in September 2022. He is represented by Me Jacques Panglose (Senior Counsel) and Avineshwar Dayal.
