The Landing Order of the Private Jet Under Investigation

The arrival of Malagasy tycoon Mamy Ravatomanga in Mauritius on the night of October 11-12 continues to attract the authorities' attention. The case, now unfolding in several investigative threads, involves both the Réduit Triangle detectives and the airport section of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID).

At Réduit Triangle, the investigation focuses on suspicions of money laundering and collusion. Meanwhile, in Plaisance, the inquiries are centered around the exact circumstances of the landing of the Cessna 560XL private jet (registration 5R-HMR), belonging to the Sodiat Aviation group, in the early hours of October 12. Investigators are trying to identify those who issued the instructions that allowed the jet to land. An initial analysis of data exchanges between Tananarive and Plaisance suggests that the arrival of the aircraft was meticulously planned.

The Mauritian police have already interviewed about forty individuals—witnesses, suspects, and aviation industry players—to clarify the conditions under which the aircraft landed on Mauritian soil. Among those questioned are Gilbert Noël, a resigned member of the board of directors of Airport Holdings Ltd and Jet Prime Ltd, as well as Andry Patrick Rabetokotany and his wife, Lovanirina Rabetokotany Ravatomanga, the son-in-law and daughter of Mamy Ravatomanga, respectively. Investigators are particularly interested in their presence at the Jet Prime Lounge shortly after the arrival of the jet carrying Mamy Ravatomanga, his wife Ramy Nivo Haingonirina Rakotoniary, former Malagasy Prime Minister Louis Christian Ntsay, along with Aina Fenosoa and Ramy Mialy Tiana Ravatomanga.

The interviewed individuals were allowed to leave after providing their statements but remain available to investigators. The latter are now trying to identify those who issued the landing instructions for the private jet. An initial analysis of the data exchanges between Tananarive and Plaisance indicates that the aircraft's arrival was indeed carefully planned.
