Roshan Jhummun on Government Tensions: 'Everyone is Free to Make Their Choice, but…'
Roshan Jhummun, a member of Parliament from the Labour Party (PTr) representing constituency no. 13 (Rivière-des-Anguilles/Souillac), firmly stated that the electorate overwhelmingly chose the Alliance of Change with a 60-0 vote to lead the country, and not, as he puts it, "to spend their time criticizing morning and evening."
The red deputy was responding to a question from the Défi Media Group this Sunday regarding the tensions within the government between the PTr and the MMM. He spoke after a wreath-laying ceremony at the War Memorial of the Royal College Curepipe, held in observance of Remembrance Day 2025—a ceremony marked by the absence of the MMM leadership.
"We were elected by the people with a 60-0 majority. We have a goal, a mission. We remain calm. Those who wish to stay, stay. Those who do not want to continue this mission, each is free in their choice," he stated, adding:
"As I often say: you cannot be half pregnant. Either you are, or you are not!"
