You have been the governor of the Bank of Mauritius since September 29. How do you summarize the work done so far, considering the significant expectations?
In one word: busy. I have been fortunate and privileged to rely on the teams at the Bank of Mauritius who have guided and supported me, ensuring I am well informed about the various projects. We have many challenges ahead. I agree that expectations are high, very important. We will do our best to meet these challenges.

You are regarded as a technocrat, trained at the International Monetary Fund. Mauritius is a micro-economy with its customs and practices. How do you navigate these waters?
It is true that, compared to my previous job, the environment is different. However, the role of governor of the Bank of Mauritius requires significant technical knowledge.

You will chair your first MPC meeting this Wednesday. Should we expect a different approach?
We are going to be data-driven. We will take into account the figures, perspectives, and risk balance. These are the considerations that will be taken into account during the MPC deliberations.
