Accident on Black River Road: Laeticia Ramkalawon, 25, succumbs to her injuries

Tragedy struck on Black River Road in the West. A serious accident involving a contracted bus and a car claimed the life of a 25-year-old woman on Saturday morning. Laeticia Philibert Ramkalawon, a resident of St-Martin near Baie-du-Cap, did not survive her injuries. This hotel employee was returning home after her shift when the tragedy occurred. She passed away shortly after being admitted to the hospital on Saturday, November 8. The autopsy concluded that she died from multiple injuries. Several others were also seriously injured, including two German tourists who are currently hospitalized.

The accident happened on this road on the morning of Saturday, November 8. A bus transporting hotel staff collided with a car in front of it. According to initial reports, the bus, driven by a resident of Morne, was heading towards Baie-du-Cap when it violently struck the car. As a result of the impact, both vehicles veered off the road. The bus came to a stop against a tree.

Rescue teams, supported by volunteers, quickly arrived on the scene. Several passengers were injured, some seriously.
