On TikTok - Sextortion: A Student Trapped by a Fake Profile

A 22-year-old student from an eastern village has filed a complaint for sextortion after discovering explicit videos of herself circulating on TikTok. In a report filed at her local police station, she denounces the fraudulent use of video clips she had posted on her TikTok page, as well as the manipulation of these videos for exploitative purposes.

In her statement, the young woman recounts that on Monday, November 10, around noon, she logged into her TikTok account. It was then that she received messages from an unknown user. In the messages, she found several video clips featuring her. Many of these videos included scenes of her in compromising situations. The young woman claims she panicked upon discovering this content, stating that these video clips damage her reputation. The complainant reveals that shortly after, the individual who sent her these video clips contacted her directly. Presenting himself under a false name, he proposed a sordid deal. He demanded that she spend a day with him, in exchange for deleting all the videos. The victim immediately refused and decided to report it to the police.

On Monday, during her complaint, the 22-year-old provided excerpts of the exchanged messages between her and the alleged blackmailer. She also handed over her mobile phone to the investigators. Officers from the CID of Flacq are now trying to trace the blackmailer behind this sextortion attempt. The police remind that such acts constitute a serious offense, punishable by prosecution for blackmail, online harassment, and the distribution of obscene images without consent.
