Mahébourg: Unions and Citizens United for Retirement at 60

Union leaders, workers, retirees, professionals, young activists, and ordinary citizens: around a hundred people participated in the rally. They traveled the 20 kilometers separating the two villages with a single message: retirement age must be reverted to 60. Leading the procession, Georges Ah Yan, a well-known figure in civic struggles, repeatedly called out: "Retirement must return to 60!" he shouted into the microphone, his voice resonating with determination.
