Fatal Hit-and-Run in Camp-Levieux: Driver Returned to Police Custody

Nigel Décidé, 19, will not be released on bail. The driver involved in the fatal accident in Camp-Levieux appeared before the Bail and Remand Court on Sunday, November 16. He faces four provisional charges: involuntary manslaughter due to negligence, culpable omission, driving under the influence of drugs, and driving without a valid license. He was returned to police custody.

Nigel Décidé was re-arrested yesterday afternoon and placed in custody. This second arrest follows a statement from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), which ordered his detention after receiving critical information that had not previously been disclosed by the police. The DPP's statement specified that the suspect did not have a valid license, tested positive for drugs, failed to assist the victim, and that alcoholic beverages were found in his vehicle. The DPP also noted that had this information been provided from the start, their initial decision would have been different.

It’s important to recall that on November 7, a car driven by Nigel Décidé collided with the motorcycle of Muzzamil Hussenboccus, 30, who lost his life. The driver and his passenger fled the scene after the impact, and subsequent tests confirmed that Nigel Décidé was under the influence of drugs at the time.
