Medicine: Dr. Bappoo, the Mauritian Who Shines in Science in Australia

The Mauritian community has proudly learned that the prestigious Australian Prime Minister’s Prize for Science 2025, in the Innovation category, has been awarded to Dr. Nikhilesh Bappoo, a native of Mauritius and an Australian citizen. The ceremony took place on November 3rd in the Great Hall of the Australian Parliament in Canberra, in front of a gathering of scientists, educators, innovators, and representatives from Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander communities.
