Maiden Cup – Ramgoolam: "We’ve managed to get rid of the mafia and reopen the races"

During the Maiden Cup held at Champ-de-Mars on Sunday, November 16, Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam stated, "We’ve managed to get rid of the mafia and reopen the races." He described the day as a "great victory," with approximately 30,000 attendees at the Maiden Cup, an iconic event in the horse racing calendar, returning after a two-year hiatus.

"We have restored the glory of Champ-de-Mars and the Mauritius Turf Club," emphasized Navin Ramgoolam.

When questioned by RadioPlus about his recent meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Paul Bérenger amid ongoing political tensions, Ramgoolam mentioned he has "nothing to say at the moment."
