From 'Crypto King' to 'Servant of God'
For several years, Ameen Mustan, known as the "Crypto King," was a prominent figure on TikTok, flaunting his luxurious lifestyle with sunglasses, expensive watches, and stacks of cash while sharing catchy phrases about financial freedom. With over 100,000 followers, he represented the modern ideal of a self-made man, embodying the dream of many young Mauritians who wished to break free from traditional constraints and achieve success without a boss or degree.
However, beneath the surface of his online persona, Ameen was grappling with a deeper, more personal struggle: the search for meaning in his life. One day, despite his apparent success, he made the decision to change everything.
During his peak, his videos featured piles of 1,000 and sometimes 2,000 rupee notes, as he spoke confidently, urging viewers to follow his training for success. For many, he was the embodiment of a generation eager to escape the mundane and achieve financial independence.
Yet, as his fame grew, he felt something deteriorating within him. “I was making money, gaining popularity, but my heart was empty,” he reflects today in a calm and almost serene voice. This period of uncertainty sparked his transformation. One evening, after a TikTok live session, he felt a weight on his heart. “I was doing everything to show I was happy, but in reality, I was tired. I realized I was living for the eyes of others, not for my Creator,” he shares.
The turning point came not from a scandal or dramatic fall, but from a spiritual awakening. Ameen sensed a calling to draw closer to God. Gradually, he distanced himself from his public image—gold chains, flashy clothes, tattoos, and a party lifestyle. “I removed all that, I cleansed my heart. I returned to my Creator. Today, I am proud to say I am a servant, not a king,” he states.
This change shocked social media followers. Some suspected a publicity stunt, while others believed in his sincere conversion. However, time revealed the truth: for over a year and a half, Ameen has been known as the "Servant of Allah," embracing a new attitude.
Those who thought he would abandon trading were mistaken. Far from turning his back on cryptocurrency, Ameen continues to hold training sessions but with a different focus—teaching how to succeed ethically. “Making money isn’t a sin, but earning it dishonestly, through lies and manipulation, dishonors your name and your faith,” he emphasizes.
Today, his courses encompass not just technical skills, but also discipline, honesty, and spirituality: “I teach young people how to make money, but I also show them how to stay upright in life. Not all money is good.” He begins each day with dawn prayers, without exception, stating, “I don’t miss my prayers, even if I have sessions or work. That’s my priority.”
In the streets, public perception of him has shifted. Once seen as an eccentric and provocative figure, he is now greeted with respect. “Many people come to tell me I’ve inspired them. Some even say I’ve helped them stop living for appearances,” he recounts. His followers have also changed; comments on his videos now include words like “respect,” “peace,” and “guidance.” Even those who don’t share his faith acknowledge his transformation.
Through his journey, Ameen Mustan conveys a simple yet powerful message: material success should never extinguish spiritual light. “When you achieve success, don’t forget it’s not just your effort. There are blessings that accompany you. Money can save you or destroy you,” he advises. Unlike the superficial dreams of the past, he now speaks of balance. “Achieve, yes. Gain comfort, yes. But stay grounded. Keep your faith. Because you never know when life will turn,” he stresses.
From 'Crypto King' to 'Servant of Allah', Ameen Mustan has become a symbol of a generation that understands that change is not a weakness but a victory. He does not deny his past; he views it as a necessary step: “I don’t regret anything. Because without it, I wouldn’t have arrived here. I needed to fall to learn to rise.” Today, he continues to teach, inspire, and remind others that true wealth is measured not in rupees, but in inner peace: “I’m not a king; I’m a servant. And I’m proud to say that.” His story serves as a reminder that in an age of appearances, some still choose to simply be.
On social media and in life, this humble yet courageous choice is worth far more than all the riches in the world.
This path of light has gifted him with an invaluable treasure: the return of his father after more than ten years of silence. On November 12, father and son reunited. Their shared gaze conveyed recognition and emotions that no distance could erase.
Sheikh Parweiz Hossein, with Mauritian roots now residing in California, traveled to mend this broken bond. He left Mauritius in 1971, settled in Canada, and later in the United States, building a distinguished career: a master's degree in Business Management, former Chief Compliance Officer at HP for 14 years, then at eBay for 10 years. Sheikh Parweiz, now recognized as a scholar of Islam, carries a wealth of religious knowledge that he shares humbly. “I’m proud of my son. I admire his transformation. He has found this courage on his own. Today, he inspires others. I hope he will become a role model for those looking to turn their lives around,” he confides.
Ameen Mustan now nurtures a shared project: Crypto Family. “Now, my father and I have launched Crypto Family. He will teach risk management. This will be a great support for all the young people learning with me,” he asserts.
His journey is no longer about seeking to shine but rather about seeking to illuminate.
