Technical Issue: Windshield Crack on an ATR 72-600

A recent incident has affected the regional fleet of Air Mauritius. On November 11, one of the ATR 72-600 aircraft recently acquired by the company, departing from Plaine-Corail, Rodrigues, was forced to turn back after a crack was discovered in the cockpit windshield.

It goes without saying that any anomaly on this glass poses a risk, which justifies the decision to return.
