Electrical Network: A Series of Scheduled Power Cuts

The Central Electricity Board (CEB) has announced a series of power cuts in various regions of Mauritius and Rodrigues to enhance the reliability and safety of the electrical network. These interruptions will affect residential and commercial areas, primarily in the districts of Port-Louis, Grand-Port, Flacq, and Rodrigues, as part of maintenance and network reinforcement work.

Operations began on November 22. On November 23, areas such as Providence Quartier-Militaire, Bois-des-Amourettes, Cassis, Soreze, Vacoas, and Rose-Hill will be impacted. The cuts will continue on November 24 in Roches-Brunes, on November 25 in Villa Caroline and Rose-Belle, and on November 27 in Vacoas (NHDC La Caverne, Morcellement Triton, and Lagesse).

The CEB advises customers to back up their data and use generators if necessary, noting that electricity may be restored without notice to prevent unexpected long-term outages.
