After a Car Accident: Saif's Fight for a 'Normal' Life

After a devastating car accident that shattered his body and turned his life upside down, Saif fights daily to regain mobility, independence, and dignity. He is now appealing for solidarity to fund a vital surgery costing over Rs 870,000.

"My life changed in a matter of seconds..." Saif E Aly Amrally is now 31 years old. Over three years ago, an accident left him with severe disabilities and dependent on others. Today, he is reaching out for support to finance a crucial operation that could restore the use of his arm.

The tragedy struck on January 22, 2022. On the Camp Yoloff road, a truck suddenly appeared in front of him. The crash was violent. Saif, riding his motorcycle, lost consciousness. With a battered body, he was rushed to the hospital. "I had no awareness... When I woke up, I couldn't move or speak... blood was coming out of my ear, my nose; I was vomiting blood..." he recalls.

He spent several days in a coma. Upon waking, the diagnosis was grim: multiple fractures, a broken arm and knee, a shattered jaw, and a crushed left hand. The doctors began a series of extensive surgeries. The life of this sports and football enthusiast, who worked with his father in landscaping, transformed into a constant struggle to perform even the simplest daily tasks: drinking, moving around... "I could only drink water and nothing else... I couldn't eat anything."

Despite the pain, Saif persevered. He attended physiotherapy sessions, had numerous medical appointments, and tried to remain hopeful. By the end of 2023, he managed to work as a delivery driver, a small step towards a "normal" life. But his fragile body quickly caught up with him. The screws in his knee became exposed, and the pain in his left hand became unbearable.

Another operation became necessary. After this procedure, a plate was installed. A few days later, a simple daily action—ablution for prayer—caused another fracture. Since June 2025, Saif has lived with a deformed arm, extreme pain, and limited mobility. Even lifting a glass has become a torment.

Pain and Limitations

Today, his life is dominated by pain and restrictions. Every movement is calculated; every physical effort carries a risk. His daily activities, once simple and automatic, have turned into a real obstacle course.

However, beyond his physical struggles, it is his spirit that fights. Saif refuses to let himself be defeated, despite the fatigue, frustration, and despair. He battles to maintain his dignity, to resist resignation, and to remain an independent man, even within the limits imposed by his body.

To hope for a minimum of mobility and relief from his pain, Saif needs surgery: Long Stem Reverse Shoulder Replacement with Advanced Plating Surgery. The total cost amounts to Rs 876,200.

His financial situation does not allow him to afford this operation. Today, he calls for solidarity through the OMCA Foundation. Every donation is a chance for Saif to regain a part of his lost freedom and to ease his suffering.

"I don't know what to do. I need help. My life was destroyed in an instant," he confides. Saif is not just a patient. He is a man who has lost his youth due to an accident, a man who fights every day to avoid sinking into despair.

Behind the numbers and medical procedures lies a young man who just wants to reclaim his right to live normally, despite the weight of fate. Every gesture of support can offer Saif a chance to recover a life he thought was lost forever.
