Weather: Local showers and risks of thunderstorms this Monday
The atmospheric conditions are humid and unstable, leading to cloud formation over the island, according to the Vacoas meteorological station.
The weather will be mainly beautiful in the early part of the day before becoming cloudier in the afternoon, especially in the South and on the central plateau, where localized showers, sometimes moderate, are expected. These showers could be accompanied by thunderstorms and may extend to other regions by late afternoon.
Localized showers are still forecast for early evening. Afterwards, the sky will gradually clear, and it will be nice.
Maximum temperatures will range between 26 and 28°C in the highlands and 30 to 33°C in coastal areas.
Minimum temperatures will be between 20 and 22°C on the central plateau and 24 to 26°C on the coast.
Winds will blow from the north at about 10 km/h, becoming variable during the night.
The sea will be rough beyond the reefs, with swells from the southwest of about 3 meters. Offshore outings, as well as in the lagoons of the West and South, are not recommended.
In case of thunderstorms, the public is advised to stay sheltered, avoid plains, hiking, going out to sea, and not to seek shelter under trees.
