Transferred to Mauritius for liver problems: A 58-year-old woman from Rodrigues tested positive for leptospirosis
A 58-year-old woman from Rodrigues, who was transferred to Mauritius for liver issues, tested positive for leptospirosis last Thursday. This was confirmed by Dr. Ashwamedsing Dinassing on RadioPlus on Monday, November 24. According to the Acting Director-General of health services, her condition is stable. He clarified that the disease, which is transmitted through rat urine, was detected in Rodrigues.
Authorities have conducted environmental checks to limit the risk of spread. The patient's relatives are also being closely monitored.
Precautions are therefore still necessary.
