Agaléga: Concerns as the 2026 School Year Approaches, One Year After Cyclone Chido

It has been nearly a year since Cyclone Chido struck Agaléga, leaving behind damaged infrastructure and a deeply disrupted educational system. While the archipelago is gradually coming back to life, parents and teachers find themselves in a state of uncertainty as the new school year approaches.

Since the disaster, improvisation has been unavoidable. The college library has been converted into several small classrooms, hastily set up to accommodate students in need of a learning environment.
