How Asking for Help Saved Her Life: The Story of Pooja
Every day, Pooja struggled to feed her two-year-old daughter and survive the abuse from her drug-addicted husband. When a blow nearly cost her life, she found the strength to seek help. Welcomed, listened to, and supported by SOS Femmes, she gradually regained her confidence. Now smiling and full of life, she embraces life with enthusiasm. A office worker, she raises her daughter alone, with a lighter heart.
This video is part of a national campaign launched by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Welfare entitled "Fam to pa zis enn viktim, to enn sanzman". It is a passionate call for resilience and transformation for all women victims of domestic violence. This initiative aims to convey a message of hope: it is possible to rise again, to rebuild oneself, and to become an agent of change - for oneself, for one's children, and for society. The choice of the slogan "Pa zis enn viktim" reflects a desire to shift the perspective: no longer define women by the violence they have suffered, but by their ability to stand tall.
The campaign is conducted in partnership with Bloom Again, an artistic and social collective, and Reckon Agency.
