Sky To Be Begins 300 Hours of Community Service at Central Barracks: "A Beautiful Lesson Life Taught Me"
On Tuesday, November 25, Jean Patrice Kevin Dina, also known as the artist Sky To Be, commenced his community service at the Central Barracks. He described it as an "experience rooted in humility." He stated to reporters, "It’s a beautiful lesson that life has taught me. I live this with a lot of respect."
Addressing internet users who had made negative comments following his conviction, Sky To Be expressed his gratitude. "Thank you. Your negative comments are constructive for me," he said. His complete statement can be found in the attached video.
Convicted for the theft of 45 liters of methadone in 2014, valued at Rs 80,000, Sky To Be was ultimately granted a reprieve: his two-year prison sentence was converted into 300 hours of community service by the Intermediate Court. The theft occurred on August 29, 2014, in a pharmaceutical warehouse in Plaine Lauzun.
On May 15, 2023, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) initiated criminal proceedings against the singer. He faced charges of "larceny committed by more than two individuals while masked" and "driving a vehicle on a public road without a driving license." Sky To Be pleaded not guilty at that time.
