Six Units at Bois Savon Residence Dedicated to Victims of Domestic Violence
The Ministry of Social Security is making six out of the twenty-four units at Bois Savon Residence available to accommodate victims of domestic violence.
During a press briefing on Tuesday afternoon, November 25, Minister Ashok Subron specified that the infrastructure is currently undergoing renovations. Once the work is completed, these six units will be managed by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Welfare.
The minister added that an additional space may be created to enhance the support provided to victims. Arianne Navarre-Marie, Minister of Gender Equality and Family Welfare, emphasized that these accommodations will also be able to host children over the age of 13. According to her, this temporary housing will provide victims with a conducive environment to rebuild their lives.
