Online Defamation: The Mahomed Family Plunged Back into Distress, Minister Files Complaint

The Minister of Land Transport, Osman Mahomed, reported a defamation campaign to the Central Crime Investigation Department (CCID) yesterday, blaming Deonarain Lokee. Accompanied by his lawyer, Mr. Zeeshan Rajani, he filed a defamation complaint following a series of Facebook posts since Saturday, November 22, targeting his wife and relating to a fatal road accident that occurred in 2017.

After leaving the CCID, Osman Mahomed explained that these posts have caused significant distress to his family.
