BAI Dismantling: Dawood Rawat Accuses Senior Officials of the Bank of Mauritius

Dawood Rawat returned to the FCC headquarters on Tuesday, November 25, with determination. He denounced and exposed those who conspired to dismantle BAI and its subsidiaries, providing new evidence related to the procedure initiated to dismantle the BAI group and its subsidiaries in April 2015, just months after the MSM/PMSD/ML government took power. This led to the revocation of Bramer Bank's license. "They threatened me, blackmailed me, it's pure mafia that has taken over the country. That's why I am fighting today, we cannot allow this to continue. I will defend as many people as I can, do what they want with me, I will not stop."

During his four-hour visit to the FCC, Dawood Rawat criticized both public and private sector professionals whom he claims participated in the dismantling of BAI's subsidiaries, detailing their specific roles. He implicated senior officials of the Bank of Mauritius, in collusion with accounting firms.

"Accounting firms have worked with these individuals to ensure their plans succeed and to finish us off. We cannot forget, we cannot allow any professional or government employee to abuse their power. This must stop; no one can use their power to dominate and exploit others," Dawood Rawat explained to the press.

Apollo Bramwell Hospital

He believes that the Apollo Bramwell Hospital was taken from him. He stated, "A very large entity acquired this hospital for an amount well below its value..." Dawood Rawat condemned what he described as Sattar Hajee Abdoula's dual role during the dismantling of BAI and its subsidiaries. "At that time, I was ill, my employees decided to appoint Hajee Abdoula as the administrator. Instead of preserving the company, Hajee Abdoula suggested how it could be sold in pieces."
