Brandon Rodrigues Sena Transferred to La Bastille Under Heavy Security
Brandon Rodrigues Sena, also known as El Capo, has been transferred to the high-security prison of La Bastille following his court appearance in Flacq on Tuesday, November 25.
This Guyanese national faces a provisional charge of drug trafficking. He was arrested last month in Flacq while in possession of cocaine, alongside two Mauritian accomplices. Brandon Rodrigues Sena is suspected of having played a key role in a large international cocaine trafficking network that was dismantled in 2022. He has been in Mauritius since the end of May 2025 with an expired 15-day visa.
The transfer of El Capo took place under heavy police escort. An armored vehicle from the Special Mobile Force (SMF), commandos from the Mauritian Police Intervention Group (GIPM), and the Special Supporting Unit (SSU), along with members of the Eastern CID, ensured the security of the convoy.
