Mauritius and Senegal Strengthen Their Cooperation Against Financial Crime

Mauritius and Senegal have strengthened their cooperation to combat financial crime. Recently, the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) hosted a Senegalese delegation, accompanied by representatives from the U.S. Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) at the U.S. Embassy in Senegal. This benchmarking mission, which took place from November 10 to 14, aimed to enhance the ties between the two countries in the fight against financial crime, money laundering, and terrorism financing.

During this event, Sanjay Dawoodarry, the interim director-general of the FCC, emphasized the significance of this exchange. "We are pleased that international investigative agencies view the FCC, and more broadly Mauritius, as a model in the fight against corruption and financial crimes. This visit presents a valuable opportunity to strengthen our capabilities and share best practices. We have also learned a great deal from our Senegalese counterparts, and we thank the U.S. Embassy for facilitating this meeting," he stated.
