Divergences at AHL: Megh Pillay denies and counters
Kishore Beegoo has resigned from his position as director of Airport Holdings Limited and all its subsidiaries, citing disagreements regarding the appointment of an executive chairman.
In his letter, Kishore Beegoo explains that he requested the board of directors, on November 7, to exercise caution before appointing someone who has legal proceedings against Air Mauritius for approximately Rs 38 million. He also proposed a 45% reduction in salary and benefits associated with the position. He clarifies that throughout his tenure, he has never received compensation, as his commitment has been voluntary.
Megh Pillay, recently appointed to lead Airport Holdings Limited, reacted swiftly. He claims that he never solicited, negotiated, or discussed any salary or contractual terms for taking on the leadership of the country's second-largest conglomerate. He describes Kishore Beegoo's allegations as completely unfounded and does not rule out taking the matter to the police. Megh Pillay dismisses these insinuations, which he says are not based on any facts, and reserves the right to pursue this matter further.
Contacted this morning, Kishore Beegoo reaffirms that his resignation is motivated by principled reasons and that he holds nothing against Megh Pillay.
