Parliament: Disability: Major Reform and Revision of the Role of Medical Boards
In response to questions from MP Sandeep Prayag, the Minister of Social Security, Ashok Subron, outlined the process of medical assessments that qualify individuals for the Invalid’s Basic Pension, Disability Allowance, and Carer’s Allowance. He noted that 345 doctors, employed on a sessional basis, are engaged within his ministry to conduct these evaluations.
