The FCC Requests Mamy Ravatomanga to Be Detained in Prison

On Thursday, November 27, 2025, the Financial Crimes Commission submitted a request for Malagasy businessman Maminiaina (Mamy) Ravatomanga to be detained at the Beau-Bassin Central Prison. He faces provisional charges of conspiracy and two counts of money laundering in the Port-Louis court.

The court heard from Dr. Mamode Aniffkhan Yearoo and Assistant Superintendent of Prisons (ASP) Alex Casimir, who is assigned to Melrose Prison. The latter provided explanations on the medical services available within the prison environment.

The court will rule on the matter this Monday, December 1, 2025. In the meantime, Mamy Ravatomanga remains at the Premium Care clinic in Phoenix.

Additionally, he has been granted another two weeks of rest following a surgical procedure. A medical certificate was produced on Thursday by Woman Police Chief Inspector Arline Raymond from the FCC, signed by Dr. Mamode Aniffkhan Yearoo. The Malagasy magnate's cardiologist asserts that he is "unfit to attend court."

On another note, the FCC has maintained its objection to the businessman’s bail request, citing risks of evidence tampering, witness interference, and flight risks.
