SBM Bank Introduces Connected Payments

SBM Bank has announced a new step in its digital payment strategy with the integration of SBM Visa cards into the SBM Tag application and Garmin Connect. This option allows Android and iOS users, as well as compatible NFC Garmin watch owners, to make contactless payments after registering their card on one of the platforms.

According to Anil Gujjalu, head of payment solutions, this development is a continuation of the launch of SBM Tag in December 2024 and aims to provide tools that cater to everyday usage. Visa also emphasizes the growing importance of payments via connected devices, which are seen as practical and reliable.

For iPhone users, the access to scanning via Garmin Connect marks a significant change. The "digital cards" feature is now available and will gradually expand to other devices as the bank deepens its technology partnerships.
