Missing Person: Davidson Anna Found Dead
The body of Davidson Anna, 32, was discovered on Thursday morning in a sugarcane field in Rivière-des-Créoles. His motorcycle was found a few meters away. Investigators from the Mahébourg police, along with criminal police and the Divisional Crime Investigation Unit dispatched to the scene, suspected foul play. However, the autopsy conducted later that evening concluded that he died from pulmonary cerebral edema.
"Around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, my son took his mother to a funeral. He told her he would pick her up after he went to bring food to his sister-in-law," explains Bernard, Davidson's father. But an hour later, this well-known musician from the area had not returned, raising concerns for the family.
"It's not like him to disappear without reason," the father confides. His loved ones tried unsuccessfully to reach him. "His phone was off, and we hadn’t heard from him at all." The family immediately started searching, retracing all the routes he might have taken, but to no avail.
Davidson's mother then went to the police to report his disappearance. The young man was last seen wearing a maroon t-shirt, black tracksuit, and white and blue sneakers. On Thursday morning, his family resumed the search. In a sugarcane field in Rivière-des-Créoles, they first found the license plate of his motorcycle. Further on, they discovered Davidson lying on his back, with his motorcycle beside him.
The area was secured, and investigators opened an investigation, initially suspecting a criminal act. For Bernard, there are still unanswered questions. "My son wasn’t in the habit of going to that area. How did he end up there when even vehicles struggle to navigate it? Moreover, there are tire tracks at the scene," he states. He demands answers about the circumstances surrounding his son's death.
"Davidson was a life-loving person. He was gentle and never had problems with anyone," Bernard says, still in shock.
