Glorious: Atmosphere and Highlights from the Concert

Glorious, the French pop worship band, kicked off their concert series on Thursday evening at the Côte d’Or National Sports Complex, drawing a large crowd for this inaugural night. Two more performances are scheduled for this Friday at 7 PM and this Sunday at 5 PM. In total, nearly 30,000 spectators are expected over the three dates, including a delegation that traveled specifically from Rodrigues.

Present at the opening concert, Bishop Jean-Michaël Durhone emphasized the special place Glorious holds in his journey. "When I was young, I attended a Glorious concert at St Mary's College in Rose-Hill. Their music carries a touching simplicity and a spiritual depth that resonates with everyone. It appeals to both the young and the old. It brings a breath of fresh air, sometimes even a revival. In a world that is often chaotic, their presence and message remain a living testament and a joyful proclamation of Christ," he stated.

At the end of the concert, the band’s co-founders, Benjamin and Thomas Pouzin, conveyed a message to the Mauritian audience. "We want to encourage the Mauritian people. We came to say that God is with them, accompanying them through their experiences and walking with them at every step," they affirmed.

The two brothers also expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome they received. "Thank you for the hospitality of the Mauritians. We are impressed to see so many people gathered over three nights. May you all be blessed. Initially, only two evenings were planned, but it was the Mauritians who requested a third date. The success we are experiencing here does not belong to us; it belongs to the audience."
