[Evening News]: A Study Launched for a Rally Circuit

On the agenda for this Friday, November 28:

• We start the journal with the project of a secure circuit for motorcycle rallying. The government is launching a study to identify a dedicated site to reduce illegal racing. In the meantime, the Minister of Transport, Osman Mahomed, proposes to temporarily rearrange the parking lot of the Anjalay Coopen stadium. • Tevin Sithanen has been arrested and then released on bail. The son of the former governor of the Bank of Mauritius was detained this Friday for an alleged violation of the ICT Act. He was released after providing a bail of Rs 20,000. He denies all accusations and relies on a technical report from Quitel Intelligence. Details will follow shortly.

• At Air Mauritius, Dhiren Daby becomes the chairman of the board. He succeeds Kishore Beegoo and acknowledges that the company’s recovery “will not happen overnight.” His priorities will be revealed shortly.

• And then, dramatic images from Hong Kong: the fire at the Wang Fuk Court complex has claimed more than 128 lives. Over 200 people are still reported missing, and eight arrests have been made. We will return to this on the international page.
