Road Safety: Cabinet Approves Return of Points-Based License

The Cabinet has given its approval on Friday for the introduction of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Bill to the National Assembly. The main objective of this bill is to reintroduce the points-based penalty system.

In this context, and to establish an effective framework ensuring compliance with the Highway Code, the text:

(a) aims to enhance the protection of road users;

(b) encourages a culture of responsible driving;

(c) and provides the necessary and related provisions.
