According to Statistics Mauritius, the average monthly household expenses are expected to rise from Rs 43,400 to Rs 45,000 by 2025. On Friday, November 28, 2025, the Council of Ministers acknowledged the tripartite technical meeting held on November 26, 2025, regarding Additional Remuneration (Salary Compensation) 2026, chaired by the Minister of Labor and Industrial Relations, with representatives from Statistics Mauritius, several ministries, employer organizations, and trade unions present.

Statistics Mauritius indicated that the forecasted inflation rate for 2025 is 3.7%, and the average monthly household expenses, estimated at Rs 43,400 in 2024, are expected to increase to Rs 45,000 in 2025.

Additional information requested from Statistics Mauritius during this technical meeting will be forwarded to representatives of employer organizations and trade unions.

The tripartite committee meeting will take place next week under the leadership of the Prime Minister.
