Attacked and Run Over by a Quad: Victim Admitted to Intensive Care with Multiple Fractured Ribs
A man in his thirties was attacked and run over by a quad on Route Bassin, Quatre-Bornes. Six days after the incident, the police have yet to make any arrests. The suspected perpetrator, who lives in the area and is known to the police, was supposed to report to the station voluntarily but failed to do so.
The victim remains in intensive care at Victoria Hospital in Candos, suffering from multiple fractured ribs and has not yet been able to provide details about the incident due to his condition. The motives behind this violent attack are still unclear, and there are no CCTV images covering the location. However, police are trying to analyze videos from local residents to piece together what happened. Just a few meters away, the quads were recorded by a surveillance camera earlier that evening.
The police have only obtained the account from a friend of the victim, who is also his colleague. At the time of the incident, the friend was on his motorcycle while the victim was on his own. He explained that they were riding on the New Link Road when an argument broke out between his friend and two young men on their respective quads, one yellow and the other gray. The victim began to honk his horn to warn his friend as he was being harassed.
Tensions escalated when the two quads blocked the victim. The driver of the yellow quad allegedly sped towards him, hitting him head-on. The victim fell heavily to the ground. Worse still, the same driver reportedly attempted several times to run over him, but a concrete structure prevented the vehicle from completely crushing him. The victim collapsed after this brutal attack, while the suspects fled the scene.
The Quatre-Bornes police were alerted to the situation and found the victim writhing on the ground with multiple injuries. The witness claims he can identify the main perpetrator, who could face charges of attempted murder. The police investigation is ongoing.
