Floods in Southeast Asia: Death Toll Exceeds 300, Including 174 in Indonesia

The human toll is very heavy. The floods affecting Southeast Asia have resulted in over 300 deaths according to the latest figures released this Friday, with at least 145 fatalities in Thailand and 174 in Indonesia, particularly on the island of Sumatra to the west. Populations have been trapped by rising waters and landslides caused by the deluge that has been pouring down for several days.
