The Shanghai Marathon 2025 kicks off this Sunday, and organizers announced a record number of 356,589 pre-registrations during a press conference on Wednesday morning. Noemi Alphonse will be at the starting line for this marathon, marking her final race of the season.

The Shanghai Marathon is the only Chinese race included in the Abbott World Marathon Majors, which is entering its second year of evaluation. This year's theme is "Running Without Borders."
