Davidson Anna: A Music Lover Found Dead in a Sugar Cane Field
Tragedy struck the Anna family in Grand-Bel-Air. Davidson Anna, a 32-year-old skipper with a deep passion for music, was found dead in a sugar cane field at Rivière-des-Créoles on Thursday morning. He had been missing since Wednesday, and his loved ones had been searching for him tirelessly. The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, and his family is struggling to accept his loss.
An autopsy revealed pulmonary and cerebral edema. Samples have been taken, and toxicological analyses are underway.
At the Anna household, no one expected such news. Davidson was the youngest of four siblings. His father, 65-year-old Bernard Anna, does not hide his grief. "I am usually calm and gentle, but my son Davidson was even gentler than I am. He was a true bon vivant," the elderly man confides.
He speaks of his son's love for music. "I used to play guitar in a band when I was younger. Davidson became very interested in the guitar at a young age. I gifted him one early on, and he started playing and eventually fell in love with it," he proudly recounts.
As Davidson grew, he became a true music aficionado, trying his hand at various instruments. "He could play anything," Bernard continues. "He was even part of a band, but there were disagreements, and he decided to work independently," he adds. "He was extremely talented at what he did. He offered his services to other groups. With his talent, artists would come to him to play together."
"At home, we have at least eight different types of guitars. Whenever he had the chance, he would sit down and play a tune." This bachelor dedicated himself to his parents and siblings. But the home that Davidson filled with joy and melodies has fallen silent.
On Wednesday, November 26, the musician went out with his mother. "He dropped my wife off at a funeral and told her he would come back to pick her up," Bernard Anna recounts. But she waited in vain. "Worried that my son wasn't returning, she alerted me. We tried to reach Davidson, but his phone was off. He always answered..."
The family, deeply concerned, began searching for him. They spent the entire day trying to find him, without success. After a night of anxiety, his disappearance was reported on Thursday morning. The search resumed, and it was ultimately close relatives who stumbled upon him while crossing a sugar cane field. He was lying on the ground, his motorcycle a few meters away, along with one of his shoes. The Mahébourg police were immediately notified. Various police units were dispatched to the scene. Investigators have not ruled out any scenarios, but after the autopsy, natural causes were favored...
For Davidson's father, there must be more answers. "My son never had problems with anyone. He never took that road. How did he end up there? We have many questions and are letting the police conduct their investigation," he says.
Davidson Anna leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of all who knew him. His funeral took place on Friday morning.
