Kolos Cement Partners with Titan Supermarket and Caterfly for the 'No to Poverty and Zero Hunger' Initiative

As part of its ongoing commitment to Mauritian communities, Kolos Cement Ltd., through its Batir Agir foundation, has launched a significant solidarity operation aimed at combating food insecurity. This initiative, titled 'No to Poverty and Zero Hunger,' was implemented in partnership with Titan Supermarket and Caterfly, resulting in the distribution of 440 essential food packages to vulnerable families across eight regions of the country.

This initiative aligns with our commitment to support the most fragile families while fostering solidarity, well-being, and inclusion around our operations in Mer Rouge. The deliveries were completed in one day thanks to close coordination with several local associations, ensuring targeted and efficient distribution in the areas of Camp Chapelon, Sainte-Croix, Roche Bois, Tranquebar, Pointe-aux-Sables, Baie-du-Tombeau, and Cassis. In total, nearly 500 families received immediate support to cope with the daily challenges posed by the rising cost of living and limited access to basic necessities.

To ensure a fair and organized action, Kolos Cement Ltd. collaborated with various grassroots NGOs, including MKids Association in Camp Chapelon, Future Hope Mauritius in Sainte-Croix, Atelier MOZ’ar in Roche Bois, as well as Caritas and SAFIRE. Through this network, the supply and distribution chain operated smoothly and rapidly.

This operation highlights the importance of strategic partnerships in responding to social emergencies while contributing to sustainable development goals related to eradicating poverty and hunger.
