Launch of Free Internet Access Program for Vulnerable Families by the End of 2025
The program providing free internet access to families registered with the Social Register is set to launch by the end of this year, with full deployment expected in the first quarter of 2026. This was announced by Ashok Subron, Minister of Social Security, on Tuesday in Parliament, in response to a question from MP Kaviraj Rookny.
The minister highlighted that a total of 7,468 households in Mauritius and Rodrigues will be fully supported. Payments will be made directly to internet service providers once the service is installed for the beneficiaries.
