At the US-Africa Business Summit: Corporate Council for Africa President Meets Navin Ramgoolam

At the US-Africa Business Summit, the President and CEO of the Corporate Council for Africa, Florizelle Liser, met with Prime Minister Dr. Navin Ramgoolam this Thursday. She was accompanied by Jean Raymond Boulle, Biouva Kabine, and Ambassador Henry Jardine.

The discussions primarily focused on the organization of the US-Africa Business Summit, which is scheduled to take place in Mauritius from July 26 to 29, 2026.

Following the meeting, Florizelle Liser described the conversation as "excellent," recalling her long-standing acquaintance with the Prime Minister. "I have worked for many years within the U.S. government and had the privilege of meeting him for the first time during one of his initial years as Prime Minister. We had a very good conversation."

She emphasized that the summit will highlight Mauritius’s initiatives, including economic diversification, its leadership in financial services, and efforts to promote investment, while also showcasing opportunities across the rest of Africa. "This will be the 18th summit and the 7th time an African country will host it," she added.

Holding this event in Mauritius represents a major opportunity for the country to enhance its international visibility and solidify its role as a key platform for investments in Africa.
