Weather: No Heavy Rain Warning in Effect in Mauritius

Weather: No heavy rain warning is currently in effect in Mauritius. Active clouds associated with a line of instability are moving further southwest. However, atmospheric conditions remain unstable in our region, according to the weather bulletin from the Vacoas station issued on Friday, December 5.

The weather will be mainly fine this morning. In the afternoon, cloud development is expected over the southern half of the island and parts of the central plateau, with localized showers.

These showers may sometimes be of moderate intensity and could be accompanied by thunderstorms.

Fog patches will be present in some areas, reducing visibility.

The maximum temperature will range between 25 and 28 °C in the highlands, and between 30 and 33 °C in coastal regions.

In the evening, occasional moderate showers with a risk of thunderstorms are still expected in the south. Elsewhere, the weather will be partly cloudy. The sky will be clear during the night.

The minimum temperature will vary between 21 and 23 °C on the central plateau and between 24 and 26 °C on the coast.

The wind will blow from the northeast at 10 to 20 km/h.

The sea will be rough beyond the reefs with swells from the southwest of about 2 meters.

In case of thunderstorms, the public is advised to stay in safe places and avoid open spaces, hiking, or sheltering under trees.
