Florizelle Liser Praises Mauritius' Strategy to Attract Investors

On Thursday, December 4, Florizelle Liser, the President and CEO of the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), met with Prime Minister Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam at the Treasury Building in Port-Louis.

She was accompanied by the U.S. Ambassador to Mauritius, Henry V. Jardine, along with other dignitaries.

Following the meeting, Ms. Liser described her encounter with the Prime Minister as excellent. "I have worked for a long time within the U.S. government and had the privilege of meeting Dr. Navin Ramgoolam for the first time during one of his early years as Prime Minister," she stated.

She emphasized that the discussions mainly focused on the organization of the U.S.-Africa Business Summit, which will be held in Mauritius from July 26 to 29, 2026. She highlighted that the summit will showcase the initiatives undertaken by Mauritius, including the diversification of its economy, its leadership in the financial services sector, and its efforts to promote investment, as well as the opportunities available in the rest of Africa. "This will be the 18th summit and the seventh time an African country will host it," she noted.

"Hosting this event in Mauritius represents a major opportunity for the country to enhance its international visibility and strengthen its role as a key investment platform for Africa," emphasized the CEO of CCA.
