Land Drainage Masterplan: 358 Permits Submitted, but Delays Persist

The Minister of National Infrastructure, Ajay Gunness, provided an update on the implementation of the Land Drainage Masterplan and the processing of permit applications. Since the document went online on August 25, 2025, a total of 358 applications have been submitted to the Land Drainage Authority. Processing times range from one day for straightforward cases to up to two months for more complex or poorly documented projects. The minister acknowledged that there have been "significant delays" due to various factors.
