Independence of the DPP: A British Report Calls for Legal Overhaul
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has released a report that could mark a significant institutional turning point.
Written by Francesca Del Mese, an international lawyer, Crown Court Judge in the UK, and a member of the highly sensitive Investigatory Powers Tribunal (IPT), this document is the first in the history of the DPP's office to thoroughly analyze its powers, structural weaknesses, and future needs. It was funded by the British government.
