Belle-Mare: A Sixty-Year-Old Drowns

Sowsankarnath Kodai, a 68-year-old resident of Montagne-Blanche, passed away on Sunday afternoon at Belle-Mare after being found in distress in the lagoon. According to the National Coast Guard (NCG), a patrol team received an alert around 3:40 PM reporting that a swimmer was in trouble in the swimming area. Volunteers present at the scene managed to bring the man to the shore before the police arrived. The NCG officers attempted to resuscitate him, but unfortunately, it was too late.
