Residents of Morne Protest Against Long Water Cuts
In Morne, residents protested on Monday, December 8, against repeated water cuts. A water truck was made available to them, but they feel it is insufficient.
This morning, villagers expressed their anger in the streets, forcing police to intervene to ease tensions.
In an interview with RadioPlus, the village president, Marie Sylvaine Auguste, stated that the water supply has been cut since Saturday, and only two water trucks have been sent to the area.
On the other hand, Sunil Gopal, the communications officer of the Central Water Authority, explained that ongoing works are currently disrupting the distribution. He assured that CWA technicians are working hard to restore the water supply in the village.
