Ceremony for the Appointment of Senior Counsels and Senior Attorneys
On Monday, December 8, 2025, the Supreme Court held a special session for the appointment of Senior Counsels and Senior Attorneys. A total of 31 practitioners were elevated to these honorary ranks, including 19 lawyers named Senior Counsel and 12 attorneys named Senior Attorney.
The ceremony, presided over by Chief Justice Bibi Rehana Mungly-Gulbul along with the Master and Registrar of the Supreme Court, Wendy Rangan, followed the issuance of Letters Patent by the President of the Republic. This document serves as the official authorization for these appointments within the legal profession.
The Attorney General, Mr. Gavin Glover, Senior Counsel, and the President of the Bar Council, Mr. Anwar Moollan, Senior Counsel, were also in attendance.
