Road Safety: 40% Increase in Accidents Over Ten Years

The Minister of Land Transport, Osman Mahomed, participated in an online meeting on Wednesday, December 3rd, held from the Palais des Nations in Geneva, under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Road Safety, Jean Todt. During the meeting, he noted that Mauritius has recorded over a 40% increase in accidents over the past ten years, a rise directly linked to the increase in the number of vehicles on the road.
