PNQ: Joe Lesjongard to Question Navin Ramgoolam on 2024 Electoral Expenses

The Private Notice Question (PNQ) from the opposition leader, Joe Lesjongard, scheduled for this Tuesday, will focus on alleged violations of the regulations governing electoral expenses during the 2024 general elections, under the Representation of the People Act. The question will be directed to Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam.

Joe Lesjongard wants to know if the government leader plans to request information from the Commissioner of Police and the Electoral Commissioner regarding any complaints filed on this matter.

He is also seeking clarifications on:

• The status of the complaints;
• The dates and police stations where these were filed;
• The constituencies and elected officials involved;
• The names of individuals who have already been questioned by the police.
