Sleigh of Kindness: Over 2,000 Toys Collected Thanks to the Mobilization of Mauritius Telecom Staff
The Ministry of Health and Wellness, in collaboration with Mauritius Telecom (MT) through the MT Foundation, launched the "Sleigh of Kindness" initiative, a Christmas aid program aimed at bringing joy to hospitalized children in the country's major hospitals.
As part of this initiative, toys donated by MT employees will be distributed to young patients across Mauritius.
The official launch ceremony took place on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital in Port-Louis, attended by the Minister of Health and Wellness, Anil Bachoo, the president of the MT Foundation and CEO of Mauritius Telecom, Veemal Gungadin, and other notable figures.
Following the program's launch, toys will be distributed in other major hospitals in Mauritius. On December 10, distributions will occur at Dr. Bruno Cheong Hospital and Sir Anerood Jugnauth Hospital in Flacq, and on December 11 at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam National Hospital in Pamplemousses, Jawaharlal Nehru Hospital in Rose-Belle, and Victoria Hospital in Candos.
This initiative aims to bring comfort and Christmas joy to hospitalized children during the festive season while strengthening the partnership between the Ministry of Health and Wellness and MT to support community well-being.
Over 2,000 toys have been collected thanks to the mobilization of MT staff for the "Sleigh of Kindness" initiative.
